Ministry Coordinator / Office Manager

Cheryl Dykstra loves her job as Ministry Coordinator. She is a person who leans toward love of teaching, of music, of children, and people of ALL ages. Her “Let’s go” spirit spins into many ministry opportunities coordinated through the Welcome Home Christian office. She had training at Purdue University and Lincoln Christian University, and added various certifications along the way (including child care admin and certified food preparation). Right now at WHCC she spearheads the music ministry schedule, the Awana children’s ministry, the Thursday food ministry, the women’s Bible studies, event programming, the daily Prayer Power emails, and the church office organization. Senior Minister

Doug Dykstra has been the Preaching Minister at WHCC since 2017. He was born in Munster, Indiana, which is in the northwest corner of Indiana, at the southernmost tip of Lake Michigan. Doug went to Christian elementary and high schools, and after graduation, entered immediately into Lincoln Christian College (LCC) on a ministerial program. He held a variety of jobs to put himself through college and graduated from LCC. He had already started preaching by the middle of his junior year of college at a little church in central Illinois, and has been preaching ever since. Doug and Cheryl were married in Lansing, IL, and he thinks of her as his best friend and partner. Doug and Cheryl came to Florida back in 1994, when he served as the Senior Minister for Adventure Christian Church.
