Acts Part 3 - February 15, 2026

Acts Part 3

(Acts Chapter 4, Acts 5:1-11)

Acts 4:19-20 19 But Peter and John replied, “Which is right in God’s eyes: to listen to you, or to him? You be the judges! 20 As for us, we cannot help speaking about what we have seen and heard.”

The reason that Peter and John were put in jail until the next day is that it was U___________________ for the Sanhedrin to conduct any business during the hours of darkness.

The fact that Jesus was put to death as the result of an illegal trial shows just how C_______________ the Jewish leaders were and how much they F_______________ the message that Jesus was bringing.

Followers of Jesus exhibit effects that proclaim them as changed people.  Two of the effects that we are speaking of is G________________ and a C______________________ C____________________ mindset.

Ananias and Sapphira wanted to receive the same kind of R______________ that Barnabas received for his generosity.  However, unlike Barnabas, they were not willing to C_______________ dedicate themselves to the cause like Barnabas.

It was not Peter that killed Ananias and Sapphira, it was the J________________ of God that resulted in their deaths.

Take Away Lesson: God may use times of suffering and trials to cause us to grow.  If we stay focused and pray, as those early believers did, we will also see God’s blessing on us.

Acts 4:33-37 33 With great power the apostles continued to testify to the resurrection of the Lord Jesus. And God’s grace was so powerfully at work in them all 34 that there were no needy persons among them. For from time to time those who owned land or houses sold them, brought the money from the sales 35 and put it at the apostles’ feet, and it was distributed to anyone who had need.
