Romans Part 8

(Romans Chapter 10, Matthew 5:17-20, Acts 2:38, Romans 11 :1-10)

Romans 10:4 Christ is the culmination of the law so that there may be righteousness for everyone who believes.

Righteousness is based on faith and C________________ be earned through good works because no matter how hard we try, our good works are flawed because we are flawed.

Jesus did not abolish the meaning of the law; he abolished our being J_____________ according to how perfectly we are able to follow the law.

God stated that he would write his law on our hearts, so we really don’t have any E______________ for willfully disobeying what we know deep down inside to be true.

Scripture is the great E________________, nobody get favored treatment, we are all judged by the same standard, we either recognize Jesus as Lord, or we will not be saved.

God revealed to Elijah that even though the nation as a whole has failed him, there has always been a R_______________ (meaning a small quantity of something) of the people who stayed faithful.

The elect (those saved by grace) did achieve righteousness but for those who R_________________ the way of faith in favor of the way of works, he H__________________ their hearts.

Take Away Lesson: True righteousness cannot be earned through legalistic works or self-effort.  Salvation is received strictly through faith in Jesus Christ by the grace of God alone.

Romans 11:5-6 5 So too, at the present time there is a remnant chosen by grace. 6 And if by grace, then it cannot be based on works; if it were, grace would no longer be grace.
